Oil & Natural Gas Corporation is Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) that comes under Government of India. ONGC earned the status of Maharatna. ONGC was established in 1956 and headquartered in Dehradun, India. The key function of the organization is that it's engaged in the exploration & production of Oil & Gas in India & Abroad.

Graduate Trainees Selection Process

The Company conducts recruitment process each year to select new candidates. The selection procedure for the company contains 2 rounds. These rounds are:

  • Online Written Test (GATE)
  • Technical / HR Interview

Pattern of GATE Exam

The ONGC test pattern breakup is given below:

The overall time allotted to the written exam is 180 minutes. There's 1/3rd negative marking in the paper.

Aptitude section questions will be based on Mathematics, General Awareness, and Reasoning. The section contains data interpretation and logical reasoning questions. Also, you will find questions on topics such as for example puzzles, graphs, charts, tables, etc.

Technical section questions will be based on core subjects such as for example mechanical, electrical and electronics. The section is tough and thorough familiarity with subjects is needed to excel in the exam.
