Patwari Job Profile
He/she works under the Tehsildar in the Tehsil.
A patwari may look after the 10 or more villages.
He/she directly meet the farmers of villages.
He/she collects the agriculture land tax from farmers on behalf of state government.
He/she also help farmers to settle an agricultural land dispute.
He/she also do the measurement of agriculture land on request of a farmer.
In many states, land data is getting stored into computers, so in these provinces he/she responsible for agricultural land data collection, and feeding the same on servers/computers.
In the case of hailstorm or flooding, he prepares the record of affected land under his/her jurisdiction, and submit the to Tehsildar.
The state government releases the compensation to villagers on the basis of the loss report (due to hailstorm or flooding) received from the Patwari.
