The Executive Trainee, Engineer Trainee & Management Trainee are the various names of lower level management officer in the PSUs. These are just nomenclatures and you will find a few others like Officer, Scientist, Graduate Engineer, etc.

The above all mentioned post are Group A equivalent officers post in the central public sector enterprises. So the candidate joining in these post would get salary and facility at par with the Class-I government officer.

The individual PSUs may map with these induction post with different pay scales as per their requirement. The fresh graduate engineers get placed in the following pay scale and corresponding grade after the appointment.

E-1     40,000 - 1,40,000

E-2     50,000 - 1,60,000

E-3     60,000 - 1,80,000

The engineers recruiting on pay scale E-3 (60,000 - 1,80,000) will get the highest in hand salary. The most of Maharatna & Navratna companies appoint fresh engineers on the E3 level.

Do all PSU Engineers have the same rank

No. Most of PSUs engineers recruited on executive pay scales comes under grade A officer rank. But the same isn't true for all the CPSEs. There are a few Govt Companies which appoints engineers on the Class-II post. So the job seekers must check the rank of engineer in individual PSU before joining it.
