The APSC Vijayawada, recently come up with the huge vacancy for the Group-II services in the State. Assistant Section Officer is also a Class-II or Group-B service under the state government.

You might have heard about the Assistant Section Officer post in the Odisha, Gujarat, and Bihar states too. Salary between the states may differ however the work remains same and vary with the according to final posting in the department.

AP Assistant Section Officer Salary

As per the official notification no. 25/2018 Dated 31/12/2018, the pay band for the APPSC ASO post is ranging from 26,600 to 77,030. The candidates will get the basic pay of 26,600 on joining the government department.

The section officers will also get the allowances as per the applicable rules. The total sum of allowances would be 14,000 to 20,000 per month. The breakup of salary is shown hereunder;

Job Profile

  • ASO needs to draft the files with the available facts and figures on various matters where the decision of senior officer is essential.
  • ASOs need to keep the track record of all moving files and must be aware with the current status of each.
  • ASOs are assisted by the clerical cadre to complete their work on time.
  • In most of the offices, the workload is average and can easily be completed.
  • They also make correspondence with the peer offices/department/external agencies on the various matter related to their job. They also keep all record of correspondence with any internal section or government department or any private agency.
  • They are also responsible to prepare the reply for RTIs, Parliament Questions, Grievances of Public/Employees etc.

The above duties may vary from a department to another depending upon the job assigned to newly appointed Assistant Section Officer.
