Private answer

Both the SBI and BSNL are the reputed government organization, if you check the financial statistics of these two, you would find the SBI has an edge over the BSNL.

But today we are here to discuss the Probationary officer post comparison with the Junior Telecom Officer.

Nature of Job

The SBI Probationary officer deals more with the financial and administrative matters pertains in their jurisdiction. It is class-I or Group A equivalent post. Whereas the Junior Telecom Officer is a Class-II or Group-B Technical post which has the least administrative and financial power.

Career Growth

The State Bank of India Probationary Officer can reach up to the apex post of the organization depending upon the individual performance in the Bank.

The Junior Telecom Officer can be promoted up to Deputy General Manager position in the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited which is a lower level management position.

Salary of both these positions are almost equal, here are the details.

  • Probationary Officer Minimum Salary: 45,000 per month.
  • The Gross Salary of PO may go up to 90,000 depending upon the posting location.
  • On the other hand, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited Junior Telecom Officer gets between the 45,000 to 60,000 per month.
  • The salary of both organizations is under revision may increase in near future depending upon the fulfillment of pay revision guidelines.

The biggest advantage of an SBI job is that their employee gets a low-interest loan, leased accommodation based on the posting location, and medical reimbursement and insurance etc.
The BSNL employee too gets the cashless medical facility, free telephone & broadband, Postpaid Mobile service etc.

Finally, If you are still in confusion about both these two posts, I would recommend you to meet the selected person individually from both organizations. Both the Public Sector undertakings have offices in the all location of the country, so there won't be any problem in meeting with them in their office.
