How do I calculate the leave encashment?

Answer Question

I want to know the formula for calculating the leave encashment amount at the time of retirement or superannuation or resigning the service. Is there any ceiling for it like it is there for Gratuity.

Private answer

The government sector employees in India can encash a maximum of 300 days Earned Leave any time during the service. Usually, the officials prefer to take this benefit at the time of superannuation because of their Basic Pay is highest.

Due to various pay patterns and scales, the same formula for calculating the Leave encashment isn't applicable.

I have collected all the calculators for calculation of Leave Encashment, You can visit the formula according to the employment.
