Recently Airport Authority Of India had issued official notification for the recruitment of Junior Executives to work in the various departments of the AAI.

The BSNL has conducted last recruitment for the post of JTO in the year of 2017 through GATE scorecard.

Recruitment Process

The AAI conducts its own online examination for the recruitment of Engineers at the level of manager and Junior Executives (ATC). After the written test applicants have to undergo the various test which depends on the posting of the individual department. They can be Voice Test, Physical Endurance Test or Personal Interview.

As I earlier said, the BSNL JTO selection criteria is based on the GATE scorecard of the current vacancy year. The selected candidate will be called for medical examination and document verification at various state offices at state capitals. There is no personal interview for the final selection, so only GATE marks matter to become a JTO in the largest Govt Telecom Company.

Pay Package

The AAI has recently implemented the 3rd PRC report for the pay revision of their employees and hence the pay of all cadre has increased to the more than 15% per month.

The Air Trafic Controller also named as Junior Executives (In other departments in AAI) appointed in the revised pay scale of 40,000 - 1,40,000 in E1 Grade.

The total Salary of Airport Authority of India ATC (Air Traffic Controller) is 70,000 per month.
In the case of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, the is yet to be revised by the Company, presently a directly recruited Junior Telecom Officer Gets around 45,000 per month. The salary is under revision may increase to 5% to 15% in near future depending upon the financial health of the organization.

Job Profile

BSNL JTO: It is the lowest executive cadre in the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, he/she may be posted either field or in Office duty at any part of the Country and in one of the departments in the Company.

The prime duty of a Junior Telecom Officer depends on the department he/she is being posted.
The Air Trafic Controller in AAI is a more challenging job as compared to the JTO. They are fully responsible for the following function at Airports

  • Tracks the Air Plane
  • Coordinate with the pilot during the Landing and takeoffs
  • All communication to pilot made through the ATC only

On both Company, candidates get the training before the on the job posting, so he/she can learn about the work profile prior to the final placement in the filed.

Job Location

The posting location in BSNL may be in rural as well as in City place depending upon the recruitment at field whereas the ATC posted in the big cities where Airports are there. So location wise JE at AAI looks better.

I hope the above points would certainly help you to decide.
